These vanilla spooky biscuits are deliciously easy to make.
100g / 3 1/2oz Unsalted Butter
100 g / 3 1/2oz Caster Sugar
1 Free Range Egg
275g / 10 oz Plain Flour
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Edible Glue or Water
1* Beat the sugar and butter until light and fluffy, add the vanilla extract.
2* Add the egg and mix
3* Mix in the flour until the dough comes together
4* Pop in the fridge for 30 minutes
5* Roll out the dough on a dusted surface
6* Using a selection of cutters, cut out your shapes and pop onto a tin lined with greaseproof paper.
7* Pop into the oven at 190 oc for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
8* Leave to cool on a rack
9* Using your food colourings colour the icing
10* Roll out and use the same cutters you used for the biscuits.
11* Once the biscuits have cooled use the edible glue (or small amount of water) and brush over and then place the icing on top.
12* My set of cutters came with a few stamps to make faces, but you can use icing tubes or sprinkles or anything you fancy. Halloween really is a time to go OTT
My cutters came from Homesense. You can find similar in Hobbycraft, Ebay and even the Poundshop. You can always use gingerbread cutters and make skeleton's.
